Side-Wind CompensationSide-wind compensation gives Volkswagen's electromechanical power-assisted steering (EPS) extra comfort and safety. This feature assists the driver under conditions of continuous side wind or severe camber. If the EPS control unit registers continuous countersteering by the driver, the power-assisted steering adjusts itself automatically to this condition and compensates for it. The fact that the driver no longer has to actively countersteer leads to a relief of stress and a considerable increase in comfort. |
